eTech Parts Plus is Moving to Texas

Soon we can say every Kansan’s favorite phrase: We’re not in Kansas anymore.

We’re excited to announce eTech Parts Plus is moving to Texas! The eTech team is relocating to a new facility near Dallas-Fort Worth. Starting June 1st, 2017, our team will officially open shop at 2380 Dean Way, Suite 160 in Southlake, TX 76092.

This week we’re packing our bags (and warehouse) in preparation for the move. We’ve made a lot of fantastic memories in KC, with some of the best people in the wireless repair industry.

While our team will miss Kansas City and the local repair community, we’re excited for a fresh start in Texas. We hear everything’s bigger there — and that goes for the Repair Community as well. We can’t wait to meet all the locals and join the Dallas wireless repair scene!

Our new eTech warehouse is in Southlake, TX, a centrally-located suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth, and close to the DFW International airport. Being closer to the airport means later shipping cutoff times and longer operating hours. Check back soon for our new shipping and customer service schedule, updated phone number, and more details on the relocation.

Over the last 8 years, eTech has built our reputation in the repair industry by delivering quality parts, tools, and education to hundreds of repair shops nationwide. As our industry evolves, eTech is proud to announce an exciting new change. On Sept 28th eTech parts was officially acquired by a private equity group headquartered in Texas which owns several other companies involved in the mobile device repair industry. The new ownership brings tremendous additional resources and capabilities to eTech.

As a result of the acquisition, we are pleased to announce our new name, eTech Parts Plus. While the majority of the eTech way will carry on, we will be making significant improvements and investments to better serve our customers.

  • Rapid response advanced depot repair center; Sometimes mistakes happen during the repair process. Our advanced mail-in repair depot is your backstop for repairs gone wrong. Offering micro soldering, FPC repair, touch IC and other 2nd level repair capabilities for our repair center partners via overnight mail-in service.
  • To ensure consistent quality and clear value of the “Grade” you are purchasing, we will be consolidating the number of lines/grades of products previously offered.*MasterTech training tour; In addition to custom training sessions, our Master Technicians will be bringing the training to you with our national training tour. This tour will host trainings in large metropolitan areas around the country allowing you to provide additional training to your team without added travel costs.

This sparked a great conversation not only about pricing but about topics such as glass-only repair, offering multiple screen options to customers, and what service add-on’s different wireless repair shops include in their pricing. Have you heard about the new lithium battery shipping regulations?

Lithium batteries commonly used in consumer electronic devices (such as the devices in the wireless industry) have been identified as a fire risk. When these batteries are designed their purpose is to provide high levels of energy which can result in that power becoming a high level of heat if the battery is damaged, improperly handled, or short circuited. Improper design and assembly have also resulted in fire which have led to stricter regulation of shipping lithium ion batteries. The IATA, or International Air Transport Association, issued new regulations prohibiting lithium batteries to be transported using passenger aircraft. This prohibition of the batteries on passenger aircraft means these products will need to be shipped with additional care.

In addition to prohibiting air transport of lithium batteries, the IATA also released more strict packing standards for these batteries. Packaging must ensure the batteries will not short circuit in transit. Batteries, such as batteries for use with iPhone 6, will be packaged in non-conductive material (such as plastic) and will be separated by cardboard or a similar packing material that prevents contact between batteries. All exposed terminals must be covered by a non-conductive material. These standards help ensure the safety of your package and comply with federal law. In addition to noticing the increased packaging, you will notice that orders with batteries will only be able to ship using Ground Shipping.

At this time we will not be increasing prices and will be offering store credit equal to the amount of shipping of the additional package. With batteries in your order, regardless of the shipping preference you select, your package will be shipped using Ground Shipping. This is similar to our current procedure for ordering Air Duster Cans. If you place an order containing batteries and are eligible for Priority Overnight Shipping, please remove the batteries from your order and place them in a separate order selecting Ground Shipping. Contact us to receive store credit for the amount of shipping the Ground Order. This ensures that you are able to take advantage of your free shipping. If you have questions, please contact your eTech Representative so that they can give you details on how this will apply to your specific situation.
