Coronavirus Update on Mobile Parts Inventory

Currently all factories that produce electronic parts are closed. Traffic in and out of the cities is severely limited, anyone attempting to return to work is undergoing a 7-14 day quarantine to confirm they do not have the virus. Production and shipping at this time is at a complete halt. In order for a factory to open they must seek a health compliance certification from the government that they have taken all the required steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Currently the government is severely backlogged on these requests, so getting proper certification is causing major delays. Even if a factory does obtain certification to open its doors, current travel restrictions and quarantines will continue to make staffing a challenge, as most Chinese citizens had previous left the cities to return to their hometown for the Chinese New Year holiday. Another challenge the supply chain faces once the factories do open will be getting product shipped out of the country. We still have no guarantee or clear status update that air and ocean cargo freight will resume normal operations anytime soon. As a valued eTech Parts Plus customer, we will keep you updated throughout this epidemic as new information is available to us. There are many rumors surrounding this unfortunate event, and is nearly impossible to pinpoint when to expect production to return. While we can’t predict how long this tragedy will continue, our current stock levels are able to meet our customer's needs today. With other suppliers stateside experiencing shortages, we will do our best to welcome new customers, but our priority is our current loyal customer base. Due to the upcoming raise in demand for parts and increase in shipping costs, we are anticipating a 10-30% rise in prices from China once production resumes. Please keep that in mind as you evaluate your inventory in the coming weeks. As frustrating as a parts shortage can be for our industry, we must remember the men and women in China suffering from this epidemic. At the end of the day, human life is more important than electronic parts and our hope is for the health and safety of those affected. Our condolences to the people of China and anyone impacted by this terrible virus.
