Customer Spotlight – Darik Caswell from Burleson iPhone Repairs

Here at eTech Parts Plus we like to get to know and celebrate our customers, so we asked Darik Caswell, owner of Burleson iPhone Repairs, a few questions How long have you owned your repair shop? A little over 3 years What did you do before owning your own business? I got out of the Army in late 2010 and I’ve been in business for myself pretty much ever since.  I’ve had my construction company since 2011 and dabbled in several other industries as well.  How did you discover that opening a repair business was what was going to be next chapter in your life? My repair stores were really just supposed to be an investment opportunity to make some passive income.  I started with the purchase of my Burleson location and saw the potential and ended up opening two additional locations. There are surprises around every corner in this industry, but what has been the most surprising thing about owning your own repair business? I guess the amount of competition.  Not just for the retail stores like myself, but for the manufacturers and distributors too… And how the technology is always evolving. Competition is always good at the end of the day, have you found ways to work with other repair shops in your area or is every man/woman for themselves? If so, how? In my area, it’s everyone for themselves.  If you had an unlimited amount of time in the day, where would you put more energy into your business? Why? Probably marketing….  There are so many different areas to promote your business and different ways of going about it. Now, if you had unlimited financial resources, where in your business would you invest the most? Why? Training!  I’d love to offer more services that could be done in house with faster turnaround times for my customers. At eTech, we are always looking for winners, and nobody is a bigger winner that a satisfied customer. We know you’re humble, but share a great customer satisfaction story where your business went above and beyond to make a customer victorious? Fortunately, eTech is only about 30 minutes from either of my stores.  I’ve personally driven to eTech and picked up parts in order to provide same day service for customers numerous times. In your own personal life, what brands and companies out there, either local or on a national level do you feel have the greatest customer service experience, and why? As a small business owner, I’m extremely partial to the other mom and pop shops, but eTech has been phenomenal to work with.  I feel like I’ve experienced this on all levels with them.  I’ve purchased my repair parts from them for close to 2 years, I send in all of our microsoldering repairs to them and I’ve even gone through some of the training courses they provide.  From the receptionist, to my account manager to the owners, it’s always a pleasure. Lastly, a business owner and entrepreneur is a rewarding life, but it also comes with days everything seems stacked against you. What is the number one thing that keeps your motivated?
