Remembering Steve Jobs

[caption id="attachment_1934" align="alignleft" width="300"] Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)[/caption]   It’s been one year since the death of the great innovator and visionary Steve Jobs, and his impact on the world is still showing evident. He was a man who didn’t believe in impossibilities, and strived each day to set a higher standard for himself and the products his company designed.

“Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.” – Steve Jobs

Though Jobs experienced great success with Apple, he also experienced a decent amount of failure. Getting fired by a company you helped to create would devastate most people; when Jobs was fired from Apple in 1986, it only helped inspire him further.

“I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” – Steve Jobs

During his absence from Apple, Jobs created NeXT Computer, Inc. and co-founded Pixar Animation. In 1996, after an agreement between Apple and NeXT Software, Jobs returned to Apple as CEO, bringing with him the innovation to help Apple become the most successful company in the world.

Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004, and though he fought the battle to the very end, he resigned from Apple in August 2011 and died October 5th that year. Many people ask where greatness comes from, and Steve Jobs answered: innovation, simplicity and sky-high standards.

“You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.” – Steve Jobs

These are standards we also set for ourselves at eTech Parts, and we strive each day to exceed your expectations of service and quality. Steve Jobs will always be remembered as a man who changed the world and the way we use technology.
