Spring Cleaning - Part #2

Spring Cleaning #2 – Keep scrubbing, don’t let your guard down!  A little extra cleaning will help keep your business open and cash flowing. In an earlier blog, we talked about the importance of cleaning each device as it comes into your store front.  Ensure that you continue to follow all the guidelines set out by the CDC.  Continue to practice social distancing as much as possible and keep your store clean.  We’ve learned that several large retailers are currently instructing their employees, in high traffic locations, to wipe down hard surfaces every 30 minutes.  Grocery stores are placing plastic dividers at cashier stands and testing each employee’s temperature before they start their shift.  This will become the “Normal” for the foreseeable future.  A game changer for the way we interact with our customers. I’d like to share with our best practices that we’re doing with our repair areas and warehouse. In addition to wiping down and sanitizing each device as it enters our building, several times a day, we are wiping down exterior and interior doors and handles with disinfecting solution.  All break room and hard services are sanitized, and we’ve increased the frequency of our cleaning crews and the sanitizing they perform.  As you do, we want to make sure that we have a safe working environment for our Associates. What are you doing to keep your shop and customers safe?   Hand Sanitizer is still hard to come by.  Why not make your own?  The are a ton of options available on the web for making your own.  Here is our quick 2-minute recipe. Our simple ingredients – you should find at most grocery or drug stores:
  • 32oz. Isopropyl Alcohol of 90% or better
  • 8oz. of Aloe Vera gel – Some after sun care gel can also be used!
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice or your favorite essential oil
Mix the ingredients in a bowl.  You'll want to make sure that it’s completely mixed.  Then pour into some of those empty hand sanitizer bottles! We hope you and your families stay safe!
