Will the Verizon iPhone use the same screen as the AT&T iPhone?

We have been hearing this question from our wholesale customers ever since the iPhone was announced to be released on Verizon.  I have been telling all of you that I was pretty sure it would be the same.  Typically, we get our hands on parts for new Apple products long before the actual product is released.  In the case of the Verizon iPhone, we did not see any parts before the release which led me to believe many of the parts would be the same, including the LCD assembly.  I WAS WRONG!  Here is a list of parts that we know for sure are not interchangeable.
  • LCD and Digitizer Assembly *
  • Logic Board
  • Mid-frame
  • Vibrator Motor
  • Battery (new part number and weight but may interchange)
  • Dock connector assembly and flex cable
  • Headphone Jack Assembly
  • Front Facing Camera
  • Back Cover
There will be more parts to add to the list. * Undoubtedly, you care the most about the LCD assembly and there may be a silver lining there.  It seems that the only difference in the screen assembly is the frame, which has mounting tabs in different locations.  It is possible to swap the frame from your customers Verizon iPhone to the currently available AT&T iPhone screen.  It wont be long until the Verizon version is available but until then, this is the only option. I expect the Verizon version to be available in 2-3 weeks.  Keep an eye on our iPhone 4 parts page. We'll add new part as soon as they are available.
