Flickering LCD

A quick note of caution when handling the iPhone 4/4S complete screen assemblies.   The cable connection to the LCD is remarkably short and can easily be damaged if not properly inserted into the midframe during installation.  Damage to this connection can cause flickering, or lines running through the LCD and other malfunction. cable-pic-6 When folding the LCD cable over to connect to the logic board, place your thumb at the base of the cable so that it cannot be pulled away from the LCD.  The cable is meant to be folded where the dashed lines are, but not at its base. cable-pic-2 As you can see below the strip that connects to the LCD is very narrow. cable-pic-4 cable-pic-1 The picture below shows each LCD being individually tested at one of our factories. cable-pic-7 I hope this quick tip saves you some headaches down the road.
