Social Distancing

“Social Distancing” – This high-level message is currently being spread throughout the world.  As you are practicing your own social distancing, at work, grocery stores or from friends and relatives, you can also use this time to socially distance yourself from your business.   No, not like you’re taking a vacation, but looking at your business from a distance.  You should be asking yourself; What do your customers or employees see when they look at your repair services?  How competitive are you in your marketplace and is there a way you can build a better brand?  Are you promotional enough?  Are there things lacking from your repair service offerings or maybe it’s time to expand? We should be thinking about our business every day, but we all get caught up in the next fire drill and tend to lose sight of important items that attract customers to our business.  What if we were to do 5 things to improve our business today?
  1. Search 5 cell repair shops in your area.  Check out their online pricing; How do you compare?
  2. Do you have business reviews?  Read your reviews, answer a few customers reviews with a simple thank you or if you don’t have reviews, set up a Google, Facebook or Yelp account.
  3. Add either a blog post on your website or create a message under one of your reviews.  Maybe tell customers the hours you are open or something you are doing to help your community or even specials you’re running for first responders?
  4. Stand outside your store and/or review your website – what should change if anything? Evaluate messaging, maybe clean the windows/door or post a note that “We’re Open”.
  5. Take care of one thing you know needs to be done, but you’ve been dragging your feet.  It might be a sales call to a customer to prospective customer or it might be balancing your books.  While this may be a tough, take this time to do it and get it out of the way.
Your business counts on you to Socially Distance yourself, so you can see what your customers see.  Take this time to learn what resources are available to help your business thrive.
