The Value of Androids

As a customer service representative at eTech Parts, I get several calls from customers concerned about the prices of some of our Samsung and HTC parts. I believe this deserves a little more explanation than what has previously been offered. Unfortunately, many people fail to recognize the true value of these devices, since many smartphones are sold on contract for a much lower price.  It’s understandable that people are hesitant to pay such high repair prices, especially when the repair price is higher than the price they paid to purchase it. This requires the repair technician to educate his or her customers on the true value of these devices.

During a simple Craigslist search for “Galaxy Note II” as you can see even the resale value of this Android device is upwards of $450. The Samsung Galaxy SIII can resell for as much as $700, with the average cost between $375 and $450. The Galaxy Note II has the highest resell value, averaging between $500 and $650. This leaves a lot of room for profit for those repair technicians who resell repaired devices. This can also help people to realize a more accurate value of their devices – and it’s definitely more than $99. Do you offer repairs on these devices? Have you found it to be worth it in the long run? Either way, eTech Parts wants to know what you think! You can find the vast community of repair technicians and shop owners over at Facebook, and join the conversation if you so please - we are always happy to hear from our customers.
