2015 Apple Rumor Roundup
Word on the street (and throughout the tech industry) is that another big Apple release is around the corner. Just in case you haven’t had time to read through all of the “leaks” and rumors we put together our (drumroll please) annual eTech Parts Apple Rumor Roundup! [caption id="attachment_9523" align="aligncenter" width="470"] Force Touch by Apple image courtesy of BGR[/caption]- The phone could be called the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7.
- There may be a 6s, 6s Plus, and a 6c all coming out in September.
- Force Tech technology used in the Apple Watch and new MacBook will probably be used in the new phone.
- The new phone may look similar to the existing 6 and 6 Plus but could have a more durable build by being a little (about .2mm) thicker at those previously weak spots.
- In addition to increased thickness (due to use of Force Touch technology), the same aluminum alloy from the Apple Watch might be used to help make the phone durable and less bendable. Goodbye, Bendgate!
- The phone may even remain the same size as the 6 (4.7 in. display) and 6 Plus (5.5 in. display).
- The new phone might be announced on September 9th at an event in San Francisco. It could also be shown on September 8th and released in the following weeks.
- The new phone might come in pink! Rumor has it a rose gold or pink aluminum option is in the works.
- The sapphire glass everyone has been waiting for could be featured in the new phone.
- A vibrating motor might help the new phone land screen-up after falling. This will have little to no effect on the number of drop tests and torture scenes to be filmed following the phone's release.
- The new phone could have a dual-lens camera for all of your high-quality selfie needs.
- The screen and display will probably be really pretty, so you can look forward to crisp images and sharper cat videos (or whatever it is you look at).
- The display is rumored to feature a new “organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen” and could be flexible and bendy.
- Sorry, Apple fans. Those unsightly plastic “bands” on the back will probably still be there.
- A better processor is rumored to be on board, which means faster processing and download speeds.
- With a minor increase in charge capacity, the battery might last a little longer.
Apple TV Rumors
- The Apple TV update could come out alongside a new iPhone in September.
- The Apple TV box is rumored to look a little different on the outside.
- We may be able to have Siri serve as the remote control.
- You might get to play with a new touch screen remote.
- The new Apple TV may be powered by the same A8 as the recent iPhones.
- Human Curation could change your viewer experience.
iPad Rumors
- A new iPad might be shown off at this event in September as well.
- The iPad could, as in previous years, be displayed at a separate event in October.
- The new iPad might not come in every color of the rainbow, but it could come in gold.
- The new iPad may get bigger rather than smaller and thinner.
